• Conifers like Douglas fir and cedar can typically be trimmed year-round, though late summer and fall are often preferred.
• Fruit trees benefit from late winter pruning to shape growth and improve yield.
• Storm preparation is worth doing in late summer or early fall before the wet season hits.
